Good afternoon everyone. Thank you very much for giving me the opportunity to share a few words on behalf of your teachers here at SHBS.
在座的各位家长，老师以及同学们，大家下午好。我很荣幸能有机会代表宏润博源学校的老师们和跟大家分享我的一些想法。
First of all, I would like to welcome everyone to the start of the fall semester. There have been many changes and challenges over the past year and a half, and it has been a long process for all of us adapting to this “new normal”, and many of us have found ourselves in a far different place and on a far different path than we would have imagined, just a short time ago.
首先, 欢迎大家参加开学典礼。在过去的一年半里，我们经历了太多的变化和挑战，对于我们所有人来说，适应这种"新常态"是一个漫长的过程，我们中的许多人发现自己处在一个完全不同的地方 ，走上了一条与我们前不久想象中截然不同的道路 。
For many of us here, this has been opening of a new and unexpected chapter in our lives. As a result, as much as high school is a time for conversations about plans, goals and roadmaps for the future, a number of us may have been presented with circumstances both unexpected and unplanned for.

Of course, planning your path, and methodically pursuing your goals for the future are very important, and there is much that needs to be done in terms of preparing for ‘next steps’. That said, I would like take a moment to talk about embracing the unexpected, and to ask about what we can learn from divergent opportunities and new paths and unanticipated situations, and the chance to explore these tangential experiences.
当然, 规划你的求学道路，有条不紊地追求你未来的目标是非常重要的，并且在准备"下一步"方面还有很多工作要做。话虽如此，我想要花点时间谈谈如何面对意想不到的事情， 并想问问大家，我们如何在突如其来的危机里面发现转机。
Exploration, side journeys, detours, and mistakes are just as important as goal setting and achievement. It’s important to view these years as an opportunity to explore who you are as a person as much as it’s a chance to set goals for the future.
做探索、走侧路、绕弯路和犯错误与目标设定和取得成就同样重要。把这些年当作探索与认清自我的一个机会，尽管这也是个为将来设定目标的机会。
Our time here at SHBS is an opportunity to try new experiences and take risks, to explore previously unexamined avenues, and embrace challenges outside of our comfort zone for their own sake.
在宏润博源的时光，其实也是一个尝试与冒险的机会，去探索那条以前“没走过的路”，迎接在我们的舒适圈之外的挑战。
What you learn about yourself as a member of a community is just as important (if not more so) than what you achieve academically, and that disappointment and failure are just as important a part of the process as success and achievement.
作为宏润博源的大家庭的一员，你的自我认知，与你在学业上所取得的成就一样重要，甚至更加重要。同时，你的失败挫折作为过程的一部分与成功和成就同样重要。
So, take risks. Embrace the error aspect of ‘trial and error’. Try things that may be too difficult, and find yourself in places where you don’t know the rules and are unsure of the path. Waste time and join clubs or groups whose descriptions make you say “huh?”. Most importantly, take this time to experience change in ways you may not fully understand, and know that you’ll be a far different person at the end of this path than you were when you began, and know that this is a good thing.
所以，要勇于冒险. 勇于面对反复尝试和反复碰壁。 尝试一些对你来说很困难的事情，去探索未知的领域。花点时间去参加一些你可能感到一头雾水的社团活动。最重要的是， 花这段时间去做出改变，并且在这条道路的尽头，你会明白你和你当初的你相比大有改观。
