不知不觉，为期一整个月的Concord+夏令营项目已经进行到了最后一周。上周的足球营、本周的棒球营正逢世界级体育盛会的热门时段，前有欧洲杯刚刚落幕，后有东京奥运会隆重开幕，内容精彩纷呈。再加上西岸时装设计营地更是一大亮点，我们将做一期合集报导作为2021年度夏令营终结篇，在近期推出。
The one-month Concord+ Summer Camps are coming close to the end. Our Football Camp and Baseball Camp fell right in the middle of two major global sports celebrations - the UEFA European Football Championship and the Tokyo Olympics. And the Fashion Design Camp is also filled with highlights. Please follow us for the finale of Concord+ 2021!
四元六维，高光赋能
通过这几周的夏令营活动报导，细心的你不难发现，康德双语倾心升级打造素质教育拓展平台——Concord+正以全新的面貌强势而归，致力于为追求个性化发展的学生和家长们提供高品质的共享课程、高效率的课余赋能，以及高紧密度的协同合作。
说起升级后的Concord+，就不能不提到其最核心的“四元六维”设定。所谓四元，涵盖了Concord+的四项核心赋能，分别是：

研学团 Excursions
家长堂 Parent Hall
这些赋能项目不仅关注学生本身的个性发展、多元发展，更关注家庭教育在学生成长过程中的重要性。学生可以参加课后的各类拓展课，假期主题营或者特别定制的短期研学团活动，家长也有机会参加家长堂，就家庭教育的许多重要话题，和专家、学者一同交流探讨。
The Upgraded Concord+
From the reports on our recent summer camps, we hope you have been able to notice that the SCBS Concord+ project has been revised and upgraded. We are hoping to provide our students with the highest quality of courses and extra-curriculum activities. We are also looking forward to a closer cooperation with our parents.
In the upgraded Concord+ project, there are four main categories of courses:
Enrichment
Theme Camps
Excursions
Parent Hall
These courses not only focus on students’ personal development but also on the importance of family education. Students can participate in a number of enrichment courses, themed camps and personalised excursions. Parents are welcome to join our Parent Hall to benefit from lectures by education scholars.
Concord+的四元核心赋能
值得一提的是，康德双语十分重视家庭教育与学校教育的一致性，且为贯彻具有国际视野的终身学习者的理念，与学生课程配套的家长堂课程将会为康德双语的家长们带来更多的精品项目体验。
在如今瞬息万变的信息化时代，如何应对未来世界的种种不确定性不仅是孩子，也是成年人的课题，所以康德双语的大朋友们、小朋友们将收获这样一个机会，一个父母与孩子共同成长、共同进步的教育体验。
The “Parent Hall” will be an extension of our international education. It will be closely aligned to the courses the students have chosen and will enable parents to stay closely involved with their children’s progress.
In this digital age, how to prepare for and how to face the uncertainties of the future is a challenge not only for children but also for adults. At SCBS, both our students and parents will have the chance to grow together to face these challenges.
SCBS三字校训—“和”、“信”、“义”
关于“四元六维”中的六维，就是Concord+六大课程维度。无论是上述四元中的哪一类，都会涉及到这六种维度，基本包含了素质发展的方方面面，也顺应了上海市教委在下一阶段落实“三个提高”中指出的——提高校内课后服务质量的要求。
Concord+的六维具体涵盖哪些领域呢？
首先，这六维的名称分别是语言拓展、人文素养、趣味学术、思维创新、美育艺术以及体育赋能。虽然是六大领域，但可见的，所涉及到的教育学科及兴趣面远远不止“六”这个数字。光是体育赋能这一项就包含了多种大、小球类运动、跳绳以及航模等；语言拓展也不仅仅是教授第二门外语（如日语、法语、西班牙语等），还指向的是语言技能的拓展运用，包括英语演讲、英语辩论、播音主持、戏剧表演、配音、诗歌朗诵等多种形式的语言运用。
Concord+ adds six dimensions to the four main courses. These dimensions ensure that our students can receive a comprehensive holistic education and also match the requirement of “after-school service improvement” as required by the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission.
What are Concord+ six dimensions?
The six dimensions include Language, Humanity, Academics, Innovation, Aesthetics and Sports. Each of these dimensions cover a wide range of subjects. For example, “Sports” covers various ball games, rope-jumping, and aeromodelling. “Language” is more than teaching foreign languages (Japanese, French, Spanish, etc.) but also involves the use of language, including English speech & debate, broadcasting & hosting, drama, synchronising and poetry reciting.

其次，康德双语是一所十二年一贯制学校，对于学校提供的任何课程，无论是常规性的面向所有学生开设的，还是个性化的、可选择的课程，我们都十分注重体系的延续性和提升性，要符合各个年龄阶段学生的发展需求。小学以兴趣启蒙和潜能挖掘为主，中学（包括初高中）则将是在小学的基础上夯实水准、提升要求、甚至参加具有国际竞争力的挑战项目为目标了。

Recruiting students from Grade 1 to Grade 12, SCBS values the consistency of all of the courses to meet the needs of students of different ages. In the Primary School, we mainly focus on developing our pupils’ interests. For Middle & High Schools students, they will be asked to build up their knowledge and challenge themselves in global competitions.
The following courses can provide some basic information of the six dimensions of Concord+. We have different courses under each dimension to suit the different needs of our SCBS students.

LAMDA（London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art）伦敦音乐戏剧学院是英国最古老的戏剧表演学院，也是世界顶尖的戏剧学院，建立于1861年。它不但教授世界领先的戏剧艺术类本科和硕士课程，同时也为中小学生提供英语诗歌朗诵、公开演讲及戏剧表演的课程认证完整体系。
Comprehensive Courses
LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) is the oldest specialist drama school in the British Isles. Established in 1861, this world-class drama school not only has bachelor’s and master’s courses but also provides a complete system of certification for English poetry recitation, public speech, and drama performance for primary and middle school students.

In many schools in the UK, LAMDA is one of the most popular extra-curriculum courses. Through the LAMDA course, the students can:
strengthen English pronunciation, vocabulary, and self-expression abilities
enhance communication skills, self-confidence and teamworking skills
improve creative thinking
study the preferred course for English drama and performance in British schools
receive a global certificate issued by LAMDA
At present, primary and middle school students from more than 30 countries have participated in studying LAMDA courses.
除了课程的含金量颇高，注重趣味性也是Concord+的一贯追求。例如在小学G1-G3的拓展课中，有一门具有“魔法”属性的课程——哈利波特科技魔法课，归在六维之中的思维创新板块里。
它的实际课程内容是围绕图形化编程入门开展的，每一节课都有与Scratch编程、电子设计、电路知识相关的基础学习。但对于低年龄段的孩子来说，他们既不了解编程，也不懂得STEM这些抽象概念下的学习意味着什么，极有可能错过这些有益又有趣的课程。
因此，“哈利波特”这个家喻户晓的虚构人物的出现，极生动地串联起了孩子们对于这门课程的想象空间。每一堂课都有一个与原小说内容有关的名字为题，例如“黑魔法防御课”、“金色飞贼”、“漂浮咒”等，光听这些名字，就连成年人都要开始浮想联翩了，何况是求知探索欲正强的小学生们。
同样的操作也发生在其他一些创客类课程中。例如有的课程引入部分选择了与历史人文相关的主题，而实际学习的是科技创新、动手实践，这些基于学生好奇心探究欲出发的课程设计，不仅是完美地把文、理知识结合在了一起，也让我们的学生充分理解到学科与学科之间都是相通的。
We also hope our courses are entertaining. For example, G1 to G3 students are able to take an “magical” course – Harry Potter Technology, which is under the Innovation Dimension.
The course is based on graphic programming, and each lesson will involve fundamental knowledge of Scratch, digital design and circuit. For younger children, they might know little about programming or STEM, so they may miss these beneficial and interesting courses.
Based on the world-famous “Harry Potter”, the course provides an opportunity for our students to be creative and imaginative. Each project title is related to the books: “Defense Against the Dark Arts”, “Golden Snitch” and “Levitation Charm”... We believe that our pupils will also be fascinated by the course.
Our innovative courses are also the same. For example, some courses have topics related to history and humanity, and students will learn about technology and do hands-on projects. This kind of design not only combines science and humanities, but also lets our students fully understand how different subjects are actually interlinked.
STEM是一门大学科
不怕迷茫，贵在坚持
凡是给孩子选择过兴趣课的家长大部分都会遇到过一个迷茫期，钱花了不少，但是没有学的长和精的。往往精挑细选，多番比较，甚至和孩子深入沟通后做出的决定，却换来一个放弃的结果。不过，冷静下来想一想，这里面还是有不同因素造成的，简单来说，一个是内因，一个是外因。
内因很好理解，其表象就是孩子坚持不下去，厌弃了原先可能觉得比较感兴趣的探索，半途而废。家长往往对这种结果是最为恼火的，毕竟虽然是孩子在学，但“造梦者”却是孩子的父母，他们对于“学成出师”这件事比学习者本身还抱有更高的期待。
如果说确实是选择了超出孩子当下能力或者无感的课程，那适时的止损也是一种收获，人生没有所谓的“被浪费”的体验。Concord+的每一门拓展课程的时间维度是和学期同步。尤其对初学者来说，半年的时间基本可以覆盖到从有点兴趣到能否坚持的周期，相比那些以年为起量单位的课程更为合适低年龄孩子的特征。
Comprehensive Courses
Most of the parents have experienced some frustration when choosing extra-curricular classes for their children: they spent a lot of money but none of the classes had very strong learning outcomes. Often, despite many discussions, the children give up on the activity as a result. The source of the problem, however, can be either with the course, or with the participant.
The internal factor is simple to understand: children want to quit and stop exploring what may have been interesting at the beginning. Parents are often the most annoyed by this outcome. After all, the "dream-makers" are the parents. They have higher expectations for "success" than the learner.
If you really chose a course that is beyond your child’s ability, then it is time to let it go. There is no "wasted" experience in life. All courses of Concord+ are synchronized with the school calendar. For the beginners, if they can study for half a year, they can complete the cycle from having a little interest to persistence, which is more suitable for the younger children than those courses that require years of study.
每次尝试新事物都是在挑战自我
当孩子小的时候，他们说不喜欢一样事物，并不能准确表达和分析其中的原因。所以有一些学习内因问题其实往往是由外因造成的，比方说，学习环境、师资水平，甚至可能是人际关系、身体疲倦等。在学校里，和平日的伙伴们一起接受更广泛的学习探索，无疑在同伴影响和团队合作这两个层面上就已经取得了先机，默契已成，彼此更能成为互相勉励、陪伴坚持的对象。
有时候在想放弃和想坚持的犹豫瞬间，差的仅是一个能说服自己的理由。
When children are young, they cannot accurately express and analyze the reason why they say they dislike something. Therefore, some internal learning problems are actually caused by external factors, such as the learning environment, the ability of teachers, or even interpersonal relationships, physical fatigue, etc. At school, children can explore with their friends freely, as they already build up trust and friendship, which will help with their persistence.
Sometimes, there is only a reason to convince yourself when you hesitate to give up or carry on.

Between Concord+ and SCBS as a school recruiting students from G1 to G12, there exists a lot of potential for collaboration and synergy. Within the same syllabus, students will be placed in different classes based on not just their age group but also on their learning abilities. They are able to enjoy many club activities as well. Not only they can choose what they would like to learn, they can also communicate with their schoolmates from different grades. We believe that this is one of the most attractive parts of Concord+.
In September, the upgraded Concord+ courses will be ready for our students and parents.
