Single-article, multiple-article and whole-book reading create different scenarios and approaches to arouse students’ interest in reading. For instance, we can adopt a ‘Read & Write’ approach - ‘creative reading and writing, ‘reading in exercise’, and ‘improvised exercise’ cleverly combine writing practice and reading to improve overall Chinese literacy.

好的课堂常规应是学生张弛有度,老师收放自如。每个身处课堂中的学生都应遵守最基本的课堂行为准则,老师们更应对课堂常规的特点及规律有更加科学的认识,将日常的纪律和中国文化的“礼”相结合,才能真正做到“有礼,有序,有法”的高效课堂管理。
课堂的黄金学习期是什么时段?
课堂的前20分钟,这段时间是一节课的黄金学习期,在黄金学习期,必须确保处理本节课的重难点,切忌导入时间过长,若学生情绪不佳或心智疲劳,他们对新知识、重难点的接受效率都会变低。

What makes a great classroom routine?
A great classroom routine puts both students and teachers at ease. During a lesson, students should abide by basic classroom rules, while a teacher should have a scientific understanding of the characteristics and pattern of a classroom routine. Only by combining daily disciplines and Chinese etiquettes can we achieve efficient classroom management and maintain a ‘courteous, orderly, and methodological classroom.
When is the Golden Time?
The first 20 minutes of a lesson is the golden time for learning. Within this period, we must deal with the most challenging part of the lesson and avoid a lengthy lead-in. If students are in a mood or mentally tired, their absorption of new knowledge and difficult points will be affected.

How to implement the Chinese National Curriculum in international and bilingual schools?
Starting from Early Years, AISL Harrow Shenzhen combines British Education and China’s Teaching Guideline for Preschool Education. How to implement differentiated teaching?
At AISL Harrow Shanghai, we teach students in small groups starting from Pre-Prep School, followed by more stratified teaching for Year 5 to Year 8 students. Chinese lessons for Prep School are planned according to different grades so that all students can have Chinese lessons simultaneously and differentiated teaching can be successfully applied.
