上师大附二外美国高中教师培训会议

2018年8月22日，上师大附二外美国高中教师培训会议如期举行。On 22 August 2018,the American High School Department held their first conference of the new semester.

美高部负责人崔晶女士作出重要讲话，她首先感谢所有新老教师的到来，希望所有老师齐心协力迎接新学期、新学生，开启新篇章;其次，她着重强调：“我们的目的是培养具备全球视野的新时代中国年轻人。为了达成这个目标，多元文化的教师团队，需要相互包容、相互理解、相互支持，为学生提供更加优质的学术课程和多种多样的学术拓展活动。”最后，崔晶女士以博大的胸怀，平易近人的姿态，对所有老师发出诚挚的邀请：凡是对学部的发展，有任何建设性意见，都可以与其交流。

Ms Cui Jing,the Head of the American High School division,opened the meeting with an important speech.Firstly,she thanked all the teachers for coming,extended a warm welcome to the new staff and expressed the desire that all staff would join hands in this new chapter of the school semester,working together for the benefit of the students.Secondly,she stressed that the aim of the department is to foster a new era of Chinese youth with a global vision.In order to accomplish this,our multi-cultural team of teachers needs mutual tolerance,mutual understanding and a mutual support to provide students with a high quality of academic courses and a wide range of academic outreach activities.Finally,she extended a sincere invitation to all teachers that her door is always open for them to share any constructive comments or suggestions on the development of the Department with her.

随后，Mr.Trevor Wattrus(下文简称：Trevor)发表了演讲。

After that,Mr Trevor Wattrus,dean of the International Department,gave a speech.

Mr.Trevor先抛出一个问题：“我们如何做得更好?”引起全体老师的高度注意。然后，再另辟蹊径的给出答案：成为一个良好的团队，如何成为一个良好的团队——TEAM.TOGETHER,EVERYONE,ACHIEVES,MORE。即：唯有所有人一起齐心协力，才能得到更多更好的结果。

Trevor posed the question:“How can we do better?”.He gave the answer:“To become a good team.”The word:“TEAM”can be explained in this way:Together Everyone Achieves More.That is,only when we all work together,can we achieve more and glean better results.

老师应当是通过自己的工作鼓舞同事，启发学生，激励学生，推动学生，最终达到良好的教务目标。

Teachers should encourage each other through their own good example;inspire,motivate and encourage students in order to ultimately achieve good educational goals.

这样的教务目标是为学生服务：培养好学生，塑造努力学习的学生，锻造有纪律感的学生，训练思维型学生，发展为未来做好准备的学生。

This kind of educational administration aims at our responsibility to our students:cultivating good quality students,molding students who study hard,forging students with a sense of discipline,training deep-thinking students and developing students who are prepared for the future.

Mr.Trevor说：指挥家没有演奏音乐的能力，但是他/她却具备为别人制造音乐的能力。他希望自己以及所有的老师当一名指挥家型老师。

Trevor made the analogy:“The conductor of an orchestra doesn’t make a sound,but he/she has the ability to help others create music.”His purpose in the new semester is to be more like a conductor who can awaken the limitless possibilities in others.

德育处中方负责人朱老师和德育处外方负责人Mr.Les Ververs老师为各位老师分享了学生手册和教师手册重要内容，诚意邀请所有老师一起努力，共同做好学生的德育成长。

Ms Zhu,head of the Chinese section and Mr Les VerVers,head of the foreign section of Moral Education,then shared with the staff the important contents of the Student Handbook and the Teacher Manual.They encouraged all teachers to work together to help in the moral growth of our students.

本次美高会议为新学期，新起点，新学风打下了坚实基础，相信莘莘学子在品德和学术方面更上一层楼。

This was a very important meeting for the management and staff of the American High School division in which a solid foundation was laid for the new semester-a starting point for a bright new beginning.We believe that the results will be seen in the higher levels of academic and moral excellence in the students in the near future.
