从第一所国际学校的成立到现在,中国国际学校的发展已经走过了40年的历程。有了过去的风风雨雨,今天的发展与变化并存,未来又会怎样呢?

From the establishment of the first international school to now, the development of international schools in China has gone through 40 years. 截至2016年7月,全国共有国际学校约739所,其中公立国际班学校224所,私立国际学校392所,外国学校123所。

As of July 2016, there had been about 739 international schools in China, including 224 public schools with international classes, 392 private international schools and 123 foreign schools.

广义的国际学校,应该从“巴基斯坦驻北京大使馆学校”说起。随着中国的改革开放,越来越多的国家同中国建交。

1980年,他们共同创办了北京顺义国际学校,这是中国第一所完全采用国外教学和管理体制的国际学校。

In 1980, they jointly established Beijing Shunyi International School, which is the first international school in China to fully adopt foreign teaching and management systems.

截至1989年,中国约有6所国际学校,其中5所为外国儿童,一所公立学校设有国际部。这一时期,中国教育的国际化程度并不明显。国际学校大多为外籍人士子女开办,主要是为了解决使馆工作人员子女和在经济快速发展地区工作的外籍人士子女的学习问题。

As of 1989, there had been about 6 international schools in the country, 5 of which were for foreign children and one public school had an international department. During this period, the internationalization of China's education was not obvious. Most international schools were for children of foreign nationals, mainly to solve the learning problems of the children of embassy staff and foreign nationals working in areas with rapid economic development.
