9月25日下午，阳光清透且明朗，12年级的万启墨 (Monica Wan) 举办了名为 “Fabrication点线面” 的个人建筑设计系列作品展。本次沙龙在高广泽老师，杨蝉老师和包叶舟老师的共同指导下，作品形式包含了模型、拼贴、绘画、以及摄影。平面艺术与立体空间感的结合给人们带来丰富的视觉效果。

On the sunny afternoon of Sept. 25th, Monica Wan from Grade 12 held her solo art salon called Fabrication. Under the guidance of Ms.Amy, Ms. Channy and Mr. Bao, Monica displayed her diverse forms of architectural and spacial design works, including models, collages, sketches, and photography, which created bountiful enjoyment of spacial and graphic aesthetics for every single viewers at the art salon.

Introduction

在沙龙的开始，万启墨用双语向来宾们讲解了自己沙龙主题的含义和由来。

主题中的点、线、面分别代表了人们的个体状态、人与人间的社会纽带、以及融合而成的群体概念。Fabrication，融点成线，织线成面，是个体到广袤周遭的过渡，是个体实感与外界光影、空间、人群、和环境之间缠绕编织而成的互动。

万启墨本人享受这种对外界无时不刻的感知，也希望人们能一直保持着自己作为个体对外界环境的观察和细心感受，将感受和认知也逐渐编织成一个巨大的网，从中找寻到我们存在的真实感，生活的趣味性，以及在无数微小但迷人的瞬间中感到快乐的能力。

A point is the nascent and natural state of an individual. The thread represent how we gradually grow up and connect to our surrounding people and community. Through certain way of fabrication, we experience diverse interactions with space, with light,  with others, with the general group of humanity, and even with nature.

Monica treasures the changing feelings of human senses about the surrounding, and hopes that people can keep their passionate observation and closely attached perceptions of their surroundings. Through fabricating the perceptions and senses of us into a large web, we can seek felicity through the trivial but intriguing moments of life.

01 点——栖息光影

Shadows of Ourselves

沙龙的前半个小时，万启墨将自己的创作灵感和想法娓娓道来，带领着来宾们沿着既定路线，来到了第一部分作品。以栖息光影为名，展出的模型、拼贴、以及摄影探讨着个体对空间感知的多样性，万启墨希望人们能从这份变化的感觉中逐渐重视自己与外界的联系。

Named as “Shadows of Ourselves,” through creating contrary light and shadow, the first series of models, collages, and photographs focus on the diverse perception of space from the view of an individual. As we experience diverse feelings in the space, we concern more about our connection with the surrounding space instead of being a detached point floating in void.

02 线——纯真年代&破碎的河

The Intertwining Threads & Fragments of Life

展厅内的第二个系列延续了点线面的逻辑，展现着万启墨对于不同形式的社会纽带的视觉化表达。两个主模型以及它们的拼贴作品，一个尖锐脆弱，一个缠绕连绵，分别表达着长大后生人社会和童年时期的熟人社会中大相径庭的人际关系。

The notion of the thread alludes to the intertwining social bond, which is visualized through two different models. The first model represents the crowd that Monica saw in her daily life, expressing individuals’ triangular nutshells and their sharp but unstable relationships. Contrary to the first one, the second model visualizes a soft and protective form of social bond during the childhood.

03 面——大地流美

Harmony

不同群体之间的互动与关联同样被涵盖在本场沙龙的作品中。万启墨将日常生活中对人类空间与动物空间的观察，提炼成了两个小模型——都市森林和万物之形。特征明显的两个空间表达组成了鲜明的对比，并在最后融合而成一个体量更大的模型。其间两种截然不同的空间形式交错连结，模糊了不同空间形态之间的边界，更打破了群体之间的阻隔。在这个名为大地流美的模型中，万启墨运用鲜艳灵动的颜色和流动的结构，希望人们在尊重并细细感知与外界的联系和互动的过程中，最终能寻得天马行空的趣味性和融洽的快乐。

In the last series of works, the interaction between the crowd of human and the group of animals is the central topic that starts with two models of imitation of rigid human space and flowing animal space. The final model is in a greater scale than the previous models as a combination of animals' and humans' living space. Two different forms of space intertwine without absolute boundaries, illustrating that the distinction between groups of human beings and animals can be broken into a soft and friendly combination. Using diverse bright colors and free-form structure, Monica hopes to see that people can find their own glittering treasure of joy through such close connection and interaction with their surrounding.

The End

在最后，包叶舟老师向万启墨同学授予了艺术沙龙纪念徽章，本场沙龙在一片人影绰绰的欢欣中走向了尾声。

At the end of her talk, Monica received the special memorial badge from Mr. Bao. Amongst the passionate discussion and joyful interactions between guests and the works, the art salon comes to its cheerful and harmonious end.
