ECNUAS Art department invites you to the ZODIAC Virtual Exhibition on Friday, April 22th.

展览概念 Concept

今年的最后一场毕业展览再次通过视觉线上虚拟的方式，在天文元宇宙世界的某一座岛屿举行。本次展览也是DP2一年半以来的终点。与同伴们从艺术到艺术品一同追寻，创造非凡地意义并通过艺术更好地了解自己，是他们对于自我反思的一种标志，“你是谁”以及“你要去哪里”。

This year the final exhibition takes place again virtually on an island in the middle of the astronomic meta-verse world. This show is the vanishing point the DP2 students have pursued for one  year and half. Tracing an imaginary band from artwork to artwork, creating significance and getting to know themself better, through art, this exhibition is the mark of their reflections on who they are and where they are going. 

尽管他们不及展览名称中“黄道星座”中的12个个体，但这七个人却代表着七种艺术人物。这七个人选择了七条不同的道路以此通往天空，但他们也探索了不同的星座：从我们社会中女性的孤立和超然到物理世界中表达的神秘主义，穿越隐藏自然边界和城市之间的建筑体系，到爱的透明感。其他人则通过视频和表演、心理学和艺术中的同化概念以及电影/抒情来探索性别研究。

Although this year, not 12 but 7 students are presented, the title Zodiac was chosen in accordance with the 7 different artistic figures who are joining the exhibition. The 7 of them have chosen 7 different paths to the sky but they also have explored different constellations: from the isolation and the detachment of female in our societies to the mysticism expressed in the physical world, going through an architecture which conceals the border between nature and cities, to the translucence of the  organ of love. Others have explored gender studies through video and performance, the notion of assimilation in psychology and art and the embodiment of cinematographic/ lyric...figures. 

在过去几周由于疫情的再次爆发，他们在恒星之间的路径也因此受到干扰。幸运的是这群人早已在自我隔离前做好充足的准备。这也许只是一颗彗星，不会打扰他们的月球之旅！感谢这七位DP2同学分享了人生的的剪影，衷心祝愿他们梦想成真！

Their paths between the stars had been disturbed the last few weeks due to the pandemic which has done its big return. But fortunately, the students were all prepared before to isolate themself for a while. It was just a comet which won’t disturb their journey to the moon! I am very grateful to have shared with the 7 DP2 students one cycle of their lives and I wish them sincerely to succeed realizing their dreams!

"This is the ideal architecture that I want to pursue: eliminating the isolation imposed by architecture between humans and nature, humans can better empathize with nature and thus gain emotional support.”

“在我的作品中，侵略是一个双向的概念，它不仅是来自外部世界的伤害，也是来自内心世界打破桎梏的意图，这些促使我格外关注这一点并进行创作。”

"In my works, aggression is a two-way concept, its not only about the hurt received from the external world, but also the intention from the inner world to break the shackle, which I put more focus more on along with I have created more artworks.”

“我的大部分作品都以心脏的形式作为主题。我认为这是由于我对生物学的热情。从身体中提取的块状形式形象地表现出来，旨在向观众质疑他或她的情绪。是文化所建立的吗？受过教育的吗？心真的能感觉到吗？”

"The form of the heart is present in most of my pieces a as subject matter. I think it is due to my passion for biology. The block form extracted from the body, represented figuratively aims to question the viewer on the realism of his/ her emotions. Is it culturally built? Educated? Can the heart really feel?

“我的作品中可以被识别的主题包括性别刻板印象、月经耻辱、身体焦虑等，这些都与女权主义有一定的关联，是女性对社会和文化约束的探索和反抗。”

"The themes that can be identified in my works include gender stereotypes, menstrual shame, body anxiety, etc., all of which have certain relevance to feminism and are women's exploration and resistance against social and cultural constraints.”

“我最初关注女性美和她们受限的社会地位。由于第二年随着我的探索和发展，我逐渐改变了主题，展示了“孤立”的状态。我发现有些女性的自我认知正在茧自己，这是由于他们的成长和道德准则塑造而形成的。”

"I initially focused on female beauty and their restricted social status. In the second year, with my exploration and development, I gradually changed my theme to express the state of “isolation”. I found that some women's self-cognition is cocooning themselves, which shaped by their upbringing and ethical guidelines.

“在视觉冲击方面，我主要关注的是如何让画面看起来是有人居住但展现的荒无人烟的样子。当人们在看风景或处于室内，却没有发现消失的迹象时，这些物品也许能投射出人们的故事。孤独和孤立是我的作画基调。”

“In terms of visual impact, I mainly focused on how to make the picture looks inhabited and more desolated. When people see a landscape or an interior without a leaving existence, they can project their stories”. Loneliness and isolation are the keynote of my works.”

“受所研究艺术家陈秋林作品《霸王别姬》的影响，我的作品主题主要与中国传统文化有关。我在作品中运用了传统戏曲的元素、电影和历史书籍的内容， 以此形成作品中的人物和容貌。”

"Influenced by the work “Farewell my concubine” by research artist Chen Qiu Lin, the theme of my works is mainly related to Chinese traditional culture. I apply the element of traditional Opera, content of films and books about history in my works, to form the character and the facial appearance in the works.

自创校以来，学校课程设计注重学生潜能开发、鼓励创新实践、强调身心健康以及艺术素养并重的育人方向，努力创新特色融合课程，形成“科学+艺术”的校本特色。

华双7年来不辍耕耘的艺术天地，而今已初显学校艺术教育的特色与成果。四届高中毕业生均100%被知名大学录取，其中包括全球艺术类首屈一指的美国帕森斯艺术学院、芝加哥艺术学院、纽约视觉艺术学院、英国伦敦艺术大学、英国创意艺术大学、英国建筑联盟学院，并荣获奖学金321万人民币。
