融合部一年级孩子们的课程展踏着初冬的步伐如约而至。这群孩子天真灵动，聪慧活泼，有的探究学习，有的载歌载舞,还有的“武”姿飒爽，样样出彩！

The G1 assembly of the integrated department follows the pace of early winter as promised. These groups of children are innocent, intelligent and lively. They are brilliant at doing everything such as inquiring and learning, singing and dancing, and acting. 

The theme of the assembly combines the two units: "Who we are" and "How we organize ourselves". With the background of the energy crisis of the “Spaceship Shangde”, the children show the knowledge they have learned on stage through various forms, so that they can gather all seven energy stones in different space and return home successfully.

How to get along with our friends in the new environment of integrated department? The children performed a vivid stage play through the picture book story "Do Onto Otters" that was read in class. In the play, the children apply the method of thinking learned in the philosophy class to start their own thinking process about how we wanted our friends to treat ourselves.  In different scenarios, the children want their friends to be friendly, polite, honest, principled, cooperative, good at sharing and tolerant of others.

Did you know it was Da Vinci who designed the first bike? The children were diligent in thinking, and proactive in inquiring during the UOI lessons. They developed their natural curiosity, and learned the advantages and disadvantages of all kinds of transportation. They understood the concept that "People make an effort to create transportation systems that meet their needs". Look, the children experienced the evolution of a road vehicle from the carriage to the bicycle and then to the car through the perspective of Da Vinci.

The children practiced their inquiry and researched skills through reading books and attending lectures, as a result, they learned the characteristics of high-speed trains, electric locomotive trains, internal combustion locomotive trains and the maglev train. They combined the lecture content about railway transport development history and railway safety knowledge conveyed by the Shanghai Railway Bureau into their wonderful singing and dancing performance.

Under the instruction of the science teachers, the children took initiatives to inquire how planes take off, and made all kinds of paper planes by themselves. These practical experiences helped the children go back in time to the era of Wright brothers' and fixed their craft.

The children showed their passion for learning by visiting the Navigation Museum. They listened carefully and actively participated in the interactive projects, which enhanced their understanding of navigation transportation system! Back to the Chinese class, the Chinese teacher explained the modern Chinese character "boat", the children connected to the oracle Chinese character "boat" instantly and visualized an ancient canoe in their mind from the navigation museum.

What about the traffic conditions at the school gate at different times? Under the leadership of the English teacher, the children carefully counted the number of taxis, bicycles, cars, buses, scooters and pedestrians that passed by the school gate within half an hour, and graphically illustrated the data collected.

"So what can be done to solve the traffic problem along Xiuyan road?"

With this question in their mind, the children designed all kinds of futuristic transportation such as flying boats, multi-functional cars, and vehicles that can travel on land, water and in the air...

In order to experience and show our team work, a magnificent taekwondo performance amazed the audience! Every punch, every kick should be neat, standardized and powerful. Taekwondo not only can help children to keep fit, but also cultivate their perseverance and persistence.

In the first semester of Grade one, the children bid farewell to the kindergarten life and gradually transformed into qualified, integrated department students. This assembly was a glamorous platform for children to showcase their personality, share learning experiences and open a new chapter in integrated department. Although the assembly has come to an end, our students’ exploration of the world and cognitive self are still continuing.
