Mid-Autumn Festival has become one of the most important festivals for Chinese people worldwide, celebrated by sharing iconic miniature, round 'mooncakes' symbolising the full moon and representing reunion. During this time, those living away from home express their longing for their hometowns and loved ones, while those living close can celebrate together. It is also the time to wish for a good harvest and happiness in the year to come.

月到中秋偏皎洁，且喜人间好时节。中秋节以月之圆兆人之团圆，为寄托思念故乡、思念亲人之情，祈盼丰收、幸福，成为全天下华人最重要的传统节日之一。

To mark this occasion, four YCIS Shanghai students from our Pudong and Puxi campuses told us their stories of how they spend this festive season and the different ways they express their love for their families throughout the festival period.
